Annual Meeting Feb. 26

Call to the Annual Meeting February 26, 2017 following Worship
Due to inclement weather, the Annual Meeting of the Haydenville Congregational Church, United Church of Christ was postponed until Sunday, February 26th following the worship service. Please plan on staying to review the Annual Report and vote on many important issues. All members have a vote and are encouraged to attend. Non-members are welcome to attend and share their voice. Proposed bylaw changes will presented for a vote.

Proposed Bylaw Changes for Annual Meeting 2017 Article III Leadership

Section 5 Human Resources Coordinator 
The HR Coordinator shall be elected to serve for a three (3) year term and shall:
A. Oversee payroll and work with the Treasurer to assure accurate compensation of all staff.
B. As an agent of the Board of Trustees contact the Pension and Insurance boards as necessary to assure accurate and timely payment of employee benefits.
C. In conjunction with Trustees update employment agreements on an annual basis.
D. Act as an agent on behalf of employees to resolve issues reported to this position by an employee.
E. Shall be bonded by the Church at the expense of the Church. F, Perform other duties as required.

Article V Church Council
The Church Council shall be the overall policy and planning body of the church. It shall have complete power to supervise and coordinate the plans and activities of the boards, committees, and organizations of the church, and to plan prayerfully for its future. The Church Council shall:

Section 1: Be composed of the Moderator, who shall act as chair; the Clerk, who shall act as secretary; the HR Coordinator, the Treasurer; the Minister; and the chairs of all boards, committees. The Vice Moderator shall be a nonvoting member of the Church Council, but shall be able to vote when acting as Chair.

Article VII Board of Trustees 
Section 1: The Board of Trustees shall consist of five Trustees and the Treasurer.
One or two (1 – 2) Trustees shall be elected at the annual meeting of the Church as needed for a four-year term. A Trustee shall be eligible for re-election after one year has elapsed. The Trustees shall have responsibility for the care and custody of the property of the Church, as prescribed by law.
The Board of Trustees shall elect its own Chair and Recording Secretary. A quorum of the Board of Trustees shall consist of the Chair or his/her designee and at least three other
